Winter Term: Nuts-and-Bolts and Good Ideas for First-year and Transfer Students

Monday, October 7, 2013 at 7:00pm to 8:00pm

Wilder Hall (Student Union), Main 135 West Lorain Street, Oberlin, OH 44074

Do you need more information about Winter Term? Join faculty, staff, and returning students to learn about the wealth of opportunities available to you this winter term and to separate the real from the rumor.

Learn about the general parameters of a project (half vs. full, on- vs. off-campus, individual vs. group), and the variety of new and long-standing projects that include community engagement, internships, international travel, the arts, or intensive study of a language.

A panel of faculty, staff, and students will discuss different strategies for setting goals and securing a sponsor for your project, as well as the nuts-and-bolts of registration, grading, and housing-and-dining options during January.

You may then workshop your ideas with returning students, and seek advice from faculty and staff.

Sponsored by the Office of the Dean of Studies, the Career Center, and the Bonner Center for Service and Learning.
