Nobel Prize-winning scientist Harold Varmus will discuss the significance of science research and its impact on our lives as part of the Convocation Series.
Corecipient of the Nobel Prize for studies of the genetic basis of cancer, Harold Varmus has been the Director of the National Cancer Institute, President of Memorial Sloan-Kettering Cancer Center, and Director of the National Institutes of Health. Former co-chair of President Obamas Council of Advisors on Science and Technology, Mr. Varmus has authored over 350 scientific papers and five books, including his memoir titled The Art and Politics of Science. The convocation is free and open to the public. No tickets are required.
