In May, Colombia elected the first progressive government in its history. President Gustavo Petro and his vice-president Francia Márquez (the first Afro-Colombian to be elected to that position) assumed power at a crucial time, six years after the ratification of a historic peace agreement ending more than half a century of armed conflict. Join Ben Gilvar-Parke '19 (Fulbright ETA, Colombia); Kristina Mani (Professor of Politics); Ana María Díaz Burgos (Associate Professor of Hispanic Studies); and Wayleen Arrieta Ariza (Hispanic Studies Program Assistant) for a roundtable discussion (in English & Spanish).
