Translating Translations: A Conversation with Lenka Kapsova and DeSales Harrison

Lenka Kapsova is the Czech translator of DeSales Harrison’s novel The Waters & the Wild (Random House, 2018) (Okem vrány in Czech). They will discuss the challenges and opportunities involved in translating a novel, which is in part about translation.

Harrison has taught at Oberlin since 2004. He is an associate professor of English and the director of the Creative Writing Program. He is currently at work on a novel about an American wireless operator working with the French Resistance in the closing months of World War II.
