‘‘Torn From Their Bindings’’ - A talk by Travis McDade

As a part of the Oberlin College Libraries’ sponsorship of Octavofest 2019, Travis McDade will discuss his book Torn from Their Bindings: A Story of Art, Science, and the Pillaging of American University Libraries. Former Oberlin Director of Libraries William “Bill” Moffett is prominently featured in this book for apprehending rare book thief James Shinn in the Libraries’ Administrative Suite restroom (known as the “Shinn Room”).
