Modern Music Guild presents The Daxophone Consort Concert

Saturday, April 1 at 8:30pm

Fairchild Chapel, Bosworth Hall
50 West Lorain Street, Oberlin, OH 44074

The Daxophone Consort—composed of Daniel Fishkin, Cleek Schrey, and Ron Shalom—is the world's only extant all-daxophone ensemble.

The daxophone is a bowed wooden idiophone invented by Hans Reichel in 1987. It has been described as a cross between a badger and a cello. The daxophone is capable of sounds reminiscent of everything from operatic vocals to feral dinosaur gurgling.

This concert will also feature student participation from those who participate in the daxophone workshop earlier the same day (register for the workshop).
