IN-PERSON ONLY

Named for Professor Peter Takács and the composer whose music has been a pivotal source of inspiration throughout his career, this annual competition presents standout student pianists in performances of Beethoven.

The Final Round on Sunday is free and open to the public. This round will showcase recital performances of up to six pianists who advance from the closed Friday preliminary round. Pianists will perform two major works by Beethoven.

The pianists are competing for prizes—the Peter Takács Beethoven Prize ($5000), the Leon Fleisher Prize ($1500), the Howard Karp '51 Prize ($1000), and finalist prizes ($500/each).

This year's final round judges are Boris Slutsky, distinguished professor of piano at the Peabody Conservatory, and Gilles Vonsattel, professtor of piano at the University of Massachusetts-Amherst and at the Bard Conservatory.

The Peter Takács Beethoven Prize is made possible by the Steve and Linda Rosen Family.
