TAK is a New York-based chamber ensemble founded on the principles of creation, exploration, collaboration and community within contemporary music. Comprised of soprano, flute, clarinet, violin and percussion, they are committed to presenting concerts that highlight generationally relevant composers and artists in a variety of disciplines. TAK also focuses on partnership and connection with composers and audiences throughout the conception, rehearsal, performance and recording of new music in the hopes that a model for community-building and open dialogue can be achieved through the artistic collaboration process. This focus is realized in large part by presenting programs of captivating new works in a variety of different venues, wherein the composers, performers and attendees are all encouraged to not simply listen, but to exchange views and engage one another in a unique concert experience.
