Sunrise’s National Training Team has chosen Oberlin as one of the regional hubs where it will be hosting a day of training sessions. Join us as we develop the skills we need to be conscientious and diligent activists in our area. Persons 15-35 years old interested in becoming a part of Sunrise Movement or climate activists are invited to attend.
We encourage you to come for as much of the training as you can but if you are unable to attend the entirety of the event, that is fine, too.
Training session topics include:
- Climate Storytelling
- Resonating and Listening to Difficult Stories
- The Reagan Alignment and Strategic Racism
-Recruitment Techniques
-Creative Action Planning
-Coalition-Building
Coffee and some food, probably pizza, will be provided. We’ll take a lunch break.
If you would like to sign up, please do so through this google form.
This training is organized by Sunrise Oberlin and the Sunrise National Training Team in conjunction with Ecolympics.
donate if you can to help cover food and travel costs for trainers
The image is a photograph taken from the Tappan Square bandstand of dozens of high schoolers and college students wearing surgical masks and holding handmade signs that say "Wir Haben/Nur Einen/Planeten," "Dear Sen Brown Back The Deal," Stop Fracking With Mother Nature," We Must Be Red To Be Green," "Denial Is Not An Option," "You'll Die of Old Age / I'll Die of Climate Change," "People Over Profits," and "I Speak For The Trees." The people are shaded by the bandstand, but behind them the sun shines on the trees in Tappan Square.
