Spring 2019 Community Day at the Museum

Saturday, April 27 at 12:00pm to 3:00pm

Allen Memorial Art Museum, East Gallery
87 North Main Street, Oberlin, OH 44074

Papermaker Aimee Lee ’99 collaborates with the Allen Memorial Art Museum (AMAM) in an afternoon of Asian-themed fun for all ages.

Lee is the leading maker and researcher of hanji (traditional Korean paper) in North America. She founded the first American hanji studio, located in Cleveland, and authored the book Hanji Unfurled.

During this special Community Day, Lee will teach joomchi methods of texturing and fusing paper.

Come express your creativity during this family friendly event. Drop in to participate in an art activity or join a docent tour in the galleries.

Made possible by a Freeman Asian Arts & Culture Initiative grant from the Freeman Foundation.

Held twice yearly, these free programs are open to college students, families, faculty members, teachers—everyone! Activities are related to a current work of art on view and include a hands-on art project. The AMAM is committed to providing quality programs to increase exposure to all aspects of the visual arts.
