Before gaining international fame as a contestant on The Voice, Tamara Jade Fingal '12 returned to the Afrikan Heritage House in 2018 to host the BHM Soul Session Allstars. Her performance that night became something close to legendary in the Africana community at Oberlin.
When Black History Month 2021 planning began last semester, students were watching The Voice and cheering for Tamara, whose professional name is Tamara Jade. They asked if she would be willing to host again this year and she graciously accepted. In addition to hosting this special edition Soul Session for Black Hisory Month, Tamara Jade will be performing a mini set backed by her band!
