Serving internationally: A discussion about what it means to volunteer abroad

Wednesday, November 20, 2013 at 8:00pm to 9:00pm

Wilder Hall, 112
135 West Lorain Street, Oberlin, OH 44074

What does it mean to volunteer abroad? Why do we have to go all the way to the other side of the Earth to volunteer? Why are more and more people participating in this type of work?

Featuring speakers from SHOFCO (Shining Hope for Communities), NicSis, and GlobeMed, who will share their experiences in volunteering abroad. Seeing an increasing number of Oberlin students traveling abroad and participating in different forms of volunteering, we hope not only to share our own experiences but also bring about different perspectives and thoughts on the meaning of nonprofit works.

Snacks and drinks will be served
