Resisting Neoliberalism: Environmentalism and Imagery in Turkey's Gezi Park Protests

Please join Dr. Aksel Casson, Anthropologist from Slippery Rock University's Middle East Studies Center, for a presentation and conversation about his time in Turkey during last summer's nation-wide protests of the ruling political party.  Topics will include: environmentalism and economic policy, cultural heritage, the use of imagery and social media, police violence, and gender and minority rights."
