Reimagining Service & Learning: Community-Based Learning and Ecosocial Context

Wednesday, February 26, 2014 at 12:00pm to 1:00pm

Wilder Hall (Student Union), 115 135 West Lorain Street, Oberlin, OH 44074

Join us for the launch of the Reimagining Service Series

In efforts to reimagine service and learning as strategies for social justice, students, faculty, and community partners will share how together they can leverage community-based learning and eco-social context. In this lunch discussion, we will ask:

• What's it like to teach, learn, and or partner with a community-based learning (CBL) course or community-based research (CBR)? (What are CBL and CBR in the first place?!)

• How do we engage community members and partners in the learning and research process?

• How can we teach and or learn about the ecological and social (that is, ecosocial) context of Oberlin and the surrounding areas through the CBL/CBR model?

• How can these models of service and learning inform movements toward social justice?

Join us to eat, learn, and mobilize!
