Rajeev Taranath is one of India’s top exponents of the sarod, the richly resonant four-stringed lute central to classical northern Indian music.  His high caliber musicianship, characterized by deep introspection and dazzling technical skill, demonstrates the tremendous scope of this great aural/oral music tradition.  He has drawn accolades from critics and audiences throughout the world and has received many honors for his artistry including two national awards from the Indian government for distinguished contributions to the art form.  He will be accompanied in performance by the brilliant percussionist and table player Nitin Mitta.
