pattrice jones: Humans, Nature, and ‘Human Nature’
About this Event

Ideologies of oppression such as ableism, sexism, and racism share roots in speciesism, which also encourages people to exploit the environment. The doctrine of human supremacy by which we justify the subjugation of other animals can lead us into error when trying to solve human-engendered problems like climate change. Bringing ourselves into better relationship with the other-than-human world, including our nonhuman kin, can enliven and inform the struggles for peace and equity among people.
VINE Sanctuary is an LGBTQ-led farmed animal refuge based in Springfield, VT, that works for social and environmental justice as well as animal liberation.
