Are you a fan of eccentric art? Artists that reject commercialism and embrace change?

If you are, consider visiting the Clarence Ward Art Library (located on the top floor of the Venturi Art Building) to experience "Overseas to Oberlin: A Global Mail Art Network," a temporary mini exhibition of student-curated works from Oberlin College's collection of Mail Art. On display are works featuring eleven Mail Artists active during the 1960s -1990s.

Oberlin is grateful for the generosity of Mail Artists Reid Wood and Harley Francis for the existence of this collection. Exhibition curated by students Carolyn Leibovich '22, Melody Rice '22, and Leon Vance '22.

These pieces are rarely on exhibit, so act fast! The exhibition opens on September 1, and the Art Library is open:

  • Monday through Thursday, 8:30 a.m. to 11 p.m.
  • Friday, 8:30 a.m. to 5 p.m.
  • Saturday, 12:30 p.m. to 5:30 p.m.
  • Sunday, 12:30 p.m. to 11 p.m.

This event runs through December 22.
