The evening will showcase Smith, Jazz Studies faculty Chris Coles, Associate Director of the Karamu House Nina Domingue, and internationally-renowned jazz drummer Kavyon Gordon.

"Hasley & Vernon," an original work by Caleb Smith, explores the emotional turmoil of a young boy, Vernon, who grapples with his mother's deteriorating mental health. As she succumbs to psychosis, obsessively cleaning her possessions and soul, she interprets the voices in her head as divine messages. However, Vernon, only 11 years old, senses that something is deeply wrong with his mother.
