Selections from the Oberlin Conservatory Library's Special Collections will be on display. Highlights are most often drawn from the Frederick R. Selch Collection of American Music History (over 6,000 books; 700 instruments; and thousands of visual and manuscript materials depicting the history, design, and use of musical instruments from the early 16th through the late 20th centuries); the James R. and Susan Neumann Jazz Collection (over 100,000 jazz recordings; and thousands of books, magazines, posters, concert programs, sheet music, record catalogs, photographs, autographs, and artifacts); and the Milton J. and Mona C. Hinton Collection (correspondence, photographs, sheet music, concert programs, newspaper clippings, and other materials created or compiled by one of the leading bassists and photographers in the history of jazz). The display is open to the public.
