Oberlin Stage Left: Oberlin Conservatory Large Ensembles

This week on Oberlin Stage Left, Oberlin Conservatory Large Ensembles bring four works to the broadcast. Performances include Prayer Service for Earnestine by composer and saxophonist Matthew Evan Taylor and Richard Wagner's Siegfried Idyll with the Oberlin Chamber Orchestra, led by Professor Raphael Jiménez. The Contemporary Music Ensemble, led by Professor Tim Weiss, will present Brooklyn native Alvin Singleton's Again (1979). The Oberlin Orchestra, also under the direction of Jiménez, performs the Venezuelan/French/American cellist and composer Paul Desenne's Sinfonia Burocratica ed'Amazzonica.
