Are you a music-lover who lives for the thrill of seeing exciting live music? Are you a musician looking to improve your skills in jazz improvisation, repertoire, and stage presence? If the answer to either of these questions was yes, we invite you to the first OJS alum-hosted jam session at the Birenbaum.

Oberlin Jazz Society presents an alum-hosted jazz jam session open to all musicians in the college and community in the spirit of 1940s sessions at Minton's Playhouse in Harlem, where creative musicians came together to improvise and challenged each other to create a new musical vocabulary. This session will be hosted by Jazz Studies and Africana Studies double-degree alumnus Daniel Spearman ’16, a prolific trumpeter, pianist, composer, and bandleader.

Bring your instrument and enjoy a night of live music!

No host bar starting at 8:30 pm; music starting at 9 pm.
