 ly like?  Join us for an insightful discussion with Oberlin alumni current
 ly in law school.  Our panelists will share their experiences navigating t
 he law school application process\, adjusting to rigorous coursework\, sec
 uring internships\, and preparing for legal careers.  \n\n \n\nPanelists:\
 n\nKira Widran '22\n\nKira Widran graduated from Oberlin in 2022 with a do
 uble major in Law & Society and Gender\, Sexuality\, & Feminist Studies an
 d a minor in Politics. At Oberlin\, Kira was a volleyball team captain and
  worked for the Title IX office as a member of PRSM. She was also a Senior
  Fellow for the Admissions Office and a Law and Justice Scholar. \n\nAfter
  graduating\, Kira worked for two years as a legal assistant at a mid-size
  consumer protection law firm in Los Angeles\, where she gained great expe
 rience and insight into the legal profession. In the fall of 2024\, Kira s
 tarted law school at American University Washington College of Law in Wash
 ington\, DC. She is especially interested in working in professional sport
 s\, focusing on gender-based violence and harm prevention within athletics
 . This summer\, Kira will intern with Judge Loren AliKhan in the US Distri
 ct Court for the District of Columbia\, working on pivotal cases in the cu
 rrent historical political environment.\n\n \n\nJack Derwin '20\n\nJack De
 rwin is a second-year student at New York University School of Law. He is 
 planning to pursue a career as a commercial litigator and will begin his l
 egal career by returning to Ohio to clerk for a federal judge in Columbus 
 in 2026. He graduated from Oberlin in 2020\, majoring in economics and pla
 ying on the baseball team.\n\n \n\nMatt Barry '21\nMatt Barry is a 2L at D
 uke University School of Law. He is originally from Silver Spring\, Maryla
 nd\, and graduated from Oberlin in 2021. Matt majored in Politics and Law 
 & Society and minored in Hispanic studies. He was a men’s lacrosse team 
 member\, a John F. Oberlin Scholar\, and a Law & Justice Scholar. After gr
 aduating\, Matt worked for two years as a paralegal in a law firm\, handli
 ng various administrative and substantive responsibilities.\n\nAt Duke\, h
 e is the managing editor of the Duke Journal of Constitutional Law & Publi
 c Policy\, a member of the Moot Court Board\, and on the executive board o
 f the National Security Law Society. Matt is interested in litigation and 
 plans to do white-collar defense and investigation work.
