Noh Music Workshop

Acclaimed Tokyo performers Hikaru and Hisa Uzawa lead this music workshop as part of their Oberlin Noh residence. Breathing and posture, chant notation, and the interplay of song with accompanying instruments and dance. Participants will learn a section of  Heavenly Cloak and gain a sense of the artistry and discipline it takes to become an accomplished Noh performer.

Prominent members of Kanze School, the Uzawas’ art represents women in a male-dominated practice. Open to college and conservatory community members.
