Neos Dance Theatre, a professional ballet company based in Mansfield, OH, will give a free performance of diverse repertoire including Flight, Spinning Plates, eleven years in, and a new work by artistic director Bobby Wesner.
Penny Saunders, previously a dancer and choreographer at Hubbard Street Dance Chicago, created her new work, Flight, on Neos Dance Theatre which was premiered in Akron in May. Spinning Plates, choreographed by Bobby Wesner, premiered last summer and toured to Georgia this spring. It features original music by Nashville harpist, singer, composer Timbre Cierpke. Bobby Wesner and Holly Handman-Lopez, both on faculty at Oberlin College, will perform eleven years in, which premiered in Oberlin in May. Finally, Wesner will create a new work to premiere this summer.
This performance is funded by the Nord Foundation and additional local sponsors and in coordination with the Oberlin College dance and theatre departments and the new Oberlin Summer Intensive for high school-aged dance students.
