Attention sophomores:

Please join us for a lunchtime info session on the Oberlin College Research Fellowship (OCRF) and Mellon Mays Undergraduate Fellowship (MMUF), sponsored by the Multicultural Resource Center and the Office of Undergraduate Research.

///////////////////////
The Oberlin College Research Fellowship (OCRF) Program provides faculty-mentored summer research experiences to talented Oberlin College and Conservatory students from groups underrepresented in colleges and universities in the United States of America. The goal of this program is to prepare students to earn PhDs or other advanced degrees and to pursue careers in higher education or professional fields such as law or medicine.

Students in their second year are encouraged to apply. The Oberlin College Research Fellowship Program is open to undergraduates in all fields, disciplines, and majors at Oberlin College and Conservatory of Music

MMUF Mission Statement
The fundamental objective of the Mellon Mays Undergraduate Fellowship Program (MMUF) is to increase the number of students of color, and others with a demonstrated commitment to eradicating racial disparities, who will pursue PhDs in core fields in the arts and sciences. The program aims to reduce over time the serious under-representation on the faculties of individuals from certain minoritized groups, as well as to address the attendant educational consequences of these disparities. The program serves the related goals of structuring campus environments so that they will be more conducive to improved racial and ethnic relations, and of providing role models for all youth.
