The Schuler Scholar Program is a private, non-profit foundation that serves students in 11 high schools located throughout the northern suburbs and the city of Chicago. The mission of the program is to equip bright, motivated youth with the support they need to gain access to and succeed at highly selective colleges and beyond. Schuler Scholars are typically first-generation college-bound, are students of color, or come from low-income families. http://www.schulerprogram.org/

The Scholar Coach (SC) position is integral to the program. Coaches, who serve a two year commitment through AmeriCorps, work directly with Scholars, both one-on-one and in group settings, to deliver programming aimed at developing academic skills and fostering personal/social growth. SCs are responsible for many more aspects of the program as well—attend the info session to learn more!

Hannah Gilfix and Audrey Knox,  Oberlin Class of 2015, began working as Scholar Coaches with Schuler last summer and are now in their second year of service with the program. During this info session, they will talk about the program itself, their personal experience with it, and answer any questions you may have! Lunch will be provided!

This event is open to anyone who is interested! RSVPing is not necessary, but If you already know that you are planning to attend, please RSVP so that we can do our best to have enough food for everyone at the session.
