Yuichiro Onishi is associate professor of African American and African studies and Asian American studies at the University of Minnesota, Twin Cities. His recent publications include Transpacific Antiracism: Afro-Asian Solidarity in 20th Century Black America, Japan and Okinawa (New York University Press in 2013).
