Gender, Sexuality, & Attraction Initiatives (GSAI) is excited to invite pending graduates to participate in the annual Lavender Ceremony. This ceremony at Oberlin College and Conservatory honors and celebrates the achievements of LGBTQ+ students and their allies/supporters.

This year, the Lavender Ceremony will occur in the Heisman Field House. If you are attending, arrive no later than 1:40 p.m. so we may start on time.

Students, faculty, and staff are warmly welcome to attend. To ensure a supportive and affirming environment, we ask that any guests, including friends and family, be personally invited by a graduating student participating in the event. All are welcome. RSVP as a guest.

Important Notes:

  • To participate in the Lavender Ceremony, including being recognized in the slideshow and program and being considered for student speaker or performer, you MUST have registered before Friday, May 1.
  • Those who have not registered by May 1 are still welcome to join in on either event, but will not be individually recognized or considered to be a keynote speaker or performer.

The Lavender Graduation Ceremony will include:

  • A speech by a graduating student
  • Performance(s) by graduating student(s)
  • Individual recognition of participating graduates
  • Refreshments and photo opportunities
