Jay Gandhi '04 will give a workshop exploring various elements of regional folk melodies and Indian Classical music in Clonick Hall.

Mr. Gandhi is a Master of the Bansuri (North Indian wood flute) in the Hindustani Classical Music tradition. He is also renowned for exploring points of intersection between this highly traditional music and other styles of global music - including American Jazz. Mr. Gandhi earned a double degree East Asian studies and musical studies - with a focus in improvised music. While here, he studied jazz theory and improvisation with Gary Bartz, Marcus Belgrade, and Wendell Logan. 

Jay Gandhi will be performing with the PI Ensembles at The Birenbaum at 7:30pm on Thursday, March 12th.
