In honor of Holocaust Remembrance Week, the Oberlin College Jewish Studies Program invites you to a screening of the Academy Award-winning adaptation of Giorgio Bassani's novel The Garden of the Finzi-Continis .

A faculty-led discussion and light refreshments will follow the film.

On the eve of World War II, an aristocratic Jewish family takes refuge behind the walls of their lush estate in Ferrara, Italy while the fascist threat builds around them. While their garden becomes a temporary refuge for the college-age Finzi-Contini children and their friends, it cannot shield them from a reckoning with impending disaster.
