 AI Exploration at Oberlin.\n\n-----\n\nThis is a live talk and listening d
 emonstration for music students\, teachers and other curious listeners abo
 ut how musical meaning emerges in time. Using simple examples\, Bach\, Bee
 thoven\, and a few AI-assisted comparisons\, Paul Smith explores how perfo
 rmers shape sound so that earlier events remain alive\, future events beco
 me palpable\, and music becomes a vividly shared present rather than a cha
 in of notes. The AI angle is not about automated composition\, but about u
 sing AI as a comparison and listening tool to clarify what human performer
 s are actually doing when music truly comes alive.\n\nFor performance\, co
 mposition\, and TIMARA students\, and anyone interested in musical percept
 ion\, time\, and AI. Paul Smith is an Oberlin alumnus\, musician\, and AI 
 product designer whose work bridges conservatory training\, performance\, 
 and conversational AI.\n\n -----\n\nConservatory visitors are asked to ent
 er the complex through either Bibbins Hall’s east entrance (off College 
 Place) or the Conservatory Lounge’s west entrance (off S. Professor St.\
 , adjacent to the Conservatory Pond). All other entrances will be closed t
