Why is beauty so often tied to youth? “Grey is Gorgeous” is an interactive guest lecture that uses literature from different nationalities, historical movements that addressed similar concerns and contemporary advertisements that glorify youth to challenge ageist beauty standards. It opens space for intercultural dialogue on ageing and encourages participants to rethink how society views older adults. Informed by her research on the marginalization of the elderly and the stereotypes surrounding ageing, Dr. Hillela leads the conversation toward greater inclusivity and dignity for people across all ages.
