Granito: How to Nail a Dictator

Sometimes a film makes history; it doesn’t just document it. Granito transports us back in time through a riveting, haunting tale of genocide and returns to the present with a cast of characters joined by destiny and the quest to bring a malevolent dictator to justice.

Followed by Q with the filmmakers, Pamela Yates and Paco de Onís of Skylight Pictures (www.skylight.is (www.skylight.is)). First part of a two-part series on Memory, Truth, and Justice in Latin America; the second part is the screening of State of Fear about the work of the Peruvian Truth & Reconciliation Commission, Thursday March 7, Craig Lecture Hall, 7:30pm.

Sponsored by the OCLC / Mellon Foundation, Peace & Conflict Studies, Hispanic Studies/PRESHCO, Politics, Cinema Studies. Part of Oberlin's Second Annual Peace Week, March 3-8.
