#oberlinORSLJoin Professor Francesca Chubb-Confer from the Religion Department for a conversation about Gender in Qur'anic Interpretation. The often ambiguous construction of gender in the Qur'an has intrigued interpreters for well over a thousand years. This talk will provide an overview of Qur'anic exegesis, or scriptural interpretation, from feminist and queer perspectives and the debates surrounding those perspectives today.
After the talk there will be a open Iftar. Meal will begin at 7:35pm. All are welcome!
