Maria Balinska, Co-CEO and editor of The Conversation U.S. Edition and author of the critically acclaimed book, The Bagel: The Surprising History of a Modest Bread (Yale University Press, 2009) will be the featured speaker for a Friends of the Oberlin College Libraries public talk.

She will speak on "The Academy's Role in Evidence-based Journalism and Civic Discourse."
