The Oberlin Orchestra and Contemporary Music Ensemble will take the stage in Finney Chapel to perform under the direction of Timothy Weiss and Raphael Jiménez at 7:30 pm. Guest performers include NEXUS Chamber Music; Amy Owens, soprano; Robert Walters, English horn; and Jacqui Armbruster, alto/viola soloist.*

*Jacqui Armbruster is a dynamic violist, guitarist, and singer/songwriter from Allentown, PA. She is currently pursuing her BM in Viola Performance at Oberlin Conservatory with Kirsten Docter. Through her various musical outlets, Armbruster has studied under and collaborated with a wide range of artists including David Kim, Diane Monroe, Adriana Linares and The Dali Quartet, Leo Genovese, Malika Tirolien, Chico Pinheiro, Weedie Braimah, and Layth Sidiq. She was the recipient of the Theodore Presser Undergraduate Award in the 2020-2021 school year for her “high academic and musical accomplishments, leadership, and citizenship.” Outside of Oberlin, Armbruster leads her band The Witherbees, who released their second album, “love letter” in June of this year. In her free time, she is a devout plant mom and passionate consumer of coffee.
*Benjamin T. Martin is in his fifth year at Oberlin Conservatory studying composition with Jihyun Kim and voice with Salvatore Champagne. Recent engagements include a commission from VIVO Music Festival in Columbus, a commission from the NOYO Sinfonietta Orchestra, and a new work for the Oberlin Contemporary Music Ensemble. Martin has also studied composition at Brevard Summer Music festival, the EAMA Nadia Boulanger Institute in Paris, and has participated in the Cortona Sessions for New Music.
