“Sustainable Energy and Environmental NGOs in China” features facilitator Qiusha Ma, associate professor of East Asian studies, and presenter, Wang Yongchen, founder of Green Home (ENGO in China). Wang is a retired journalist at China National Radio, and the founder of Green Earth Volunteers, one of China’s earliest environmental NGOs.
Registration required: This seminar is for faculty & staff only
Description: With the world’s second largest economy, China faces major environmental challenges, including air quality, water and energy security, and deforestation. This seminar explores the development, struggles of environmental NGOs and their roles in promoting sustainability, environmental awareness, and public participation.
