Selections from the Oberlin Conservatory Library's Special Collections will be on display in an exhibit case in the basement of the Kohl Building. Highlights are most often drawn from either the Frederick R. Selch Collection of American Music History (over 6,000 books; 700 instruments; and thousands of visual and manuscript materials depicting the history, design, and use of musical instruments from the early 16th through the late 20th centuries) or the James R. and Susan Neumann Jazz Collection (over 100,000 jazz recordings; 2,000 books; and thousands of magazines, posters, concert programs, pieces of sheet music, record catalogs, photographs, autographs, and artifacts). The display is open to the public.
