Embodying Samba: Master Class with Alysia Ramos

Oberlin Assistant Professor of Dance Alysia Ramos will present a master class titled, Embodying Samba, a rhythmic dance of Afro-Brazillian origins.

Come join us as Ramos teaches us about some of the history of Samba, as well as some of the full-body, energizing moves of this Afro-Brazilian dance style!

Ramos is a dancer and choreographer whose work focuses on new approaches to modern dance. Her work is centered on self-expression as a response to embodied experiences encountered in the global age.

The event is part of Sankofa: Go Back and Get It, this year's theme for Black History Month that honors the contributions and accomplishments of black Americans.
