A lecture "Disarmament in an Age of Uncertainty" by Tsutomu Kono

In an increasingly multipolar world, powerful nations are increasing defense budgets, triggering an endless spiral of global arms races. In an age of growing uncertainty, what can the UN do to maintain peace and security? And what does disarmament promise? Speaker: Mr. Tsutomu Kono, recently retired senior political affairs officer from the Office for Disarmament Affairs at the United Nations in New York and Geneva. He continues to work as a Fellow of the United Nations Institute for Disarmament Research (UNIDIR) after his 25-year service at the UN Secretariat.

Sponsored by EAS, History, Politics, Peace and Conflict Studies, Oberlin Shansi.
