"Disappeared" talk presented by Sophie Smith and Alicia Dinsmore of La Coalición de Derechos Humanos & No More Deaths.  

Sophie Smith is a writer, community organizer, and aid worker in the rural border town of Arivaca, Arizona. She is a long-term desert aid volunteer and search and rescue coordinator. She joined the Abuse Documentation Team in 2015 and coauthored the report series The Disappeared. She recently received her PhD in humanities from Duke University.

Alicia Dinsmore is from Phoenix, Arizona, and has spent her life in the Sonoran Desert. She has a bachelor's degree in anthropology and global health from Arizona State University. For the last four years she has work­ed with No More Deaths, providing humanitarian aid in Nogales, Sonora, Mexico, to people who have recently been deported.
