Nick Ferrara ’08, Senior Manager, DisputeSoft
‘‘Case Studies in Software Disputes: What Happens When Things Go Horribly Wrong in Software Development’’

Abstract: College computer science programs work to prepare their students to be successful engineers and software developers. But what happens when something goes horribly wrong, and multimillion-dollar litigation ensues? In this presentation, Nick Ferrara ('08) reviews case studies from his time as a Senior Manager with DisputeSoft, a boutique litigation consulting firm providing expert analysis and testimony in court cases involving software disputes. Case studies will include a review of cases involving failed software projects, intellectual property misappropriation, patent disputes, and computer forensic investigations.
