Chelsey Johnson ’97 was raised in Minnesota, and currently resides in Arizona. Her debut novel Stray City, came out with Custom House/Harper Collins in 2018. Her writings have appeared in Ploughshares, One Story, Gulf Coast, the New York Times, and NPR’s Selected Shorts, among other publications. She earned an MFA at the Iowa Writers’ Workshop and a Stegner Fellowship from Stanford University.

Xandria Phillips ’14 is a poet and visual artist from rural Ohio. They are the author of Hull, published by Nightboat Books. Phillips has received fellowships from Cave Canem, Callaloo, and the Wisconsin Institute for Creative Writing, where they are the first Wave Poetry Fellow. Their poetry has been featured in Black Warrior Review , Crazyhorse, Poets.org, Virginia Quarterly Review, and other publications.
