Poets Chanda Feldman and Derek Gromadzki, along with fiction writer Abbey Chung, faculty in the Creative Writing Program, will read from their work.

Chanda Feldman is the author of Approaching the Fields (LSU Press, forthcoming February 2018).  Her poems have appeared in Cincinnati Review, Ecotone, Prairie Schooner, The Southern Review, the Virginia Quarterly Review, and elsewhere.  A former Wallace E. Stegner Fellow in poetry at Stanford University, she is also a recipient of fellowships and support from the Bread Loaf Writers’ Conference, Cave Canem, Cité Internationale des Arts in Paris, the MacDowell Colony, and the National Endowment for the Arts.  Chanda is originally from Tennessee; she earned a BA from the University of Chicago and an MFA from Cornell University. 

Derek Gromadzki is a poet and translator. He received his MFA in poetry from the Literary Arts Program at Brown University and his MFA in literary translation from the Translation Workshop at the University of Iowa, where he is a PhD candidate in the Comparative Literature Program. He is the author of the poetry collection Pilgrimage Suites (Parlor Press / Free Verse Editions, 2017), and the chapbook, Horology (Paradigm Press, 2016). His most recent translations, collaborations with Sayuri Okamoto, can be found in Alice, Iris, Red Horse: Selected Poems of Yoshimasu Gozo (New Directions, 2016). He is a 2018 NEA Japan-US Friendship Commission Fellow. And he is currently Visiting Assistant Professor of Creative Writing at Oberlin College.

Abbey Chung is a writer, a teaching artist, a storyteller and a firestarter raised in the woods of North Carolina. She is a graduate of the Michener Center for Writers, the Clarion West Writers Workshop, and Oberlin College.  She loves people and art forms on the margins. Under the name Abbey Mei Otis, her fiction has recently appeared in journals including Story Quarterly, Barrelhouse, and Tor.com and her debut story collection ALIEN VIRUS LOVE DISASTER is forthcoming from Small Beer Press in 2018.
