BalletO is hosting its first contemporary dance workshop taught by board member, Anais Lowenthal! 

The workshop will start with a short warm up followed by a contemporary combo that will include some jumps, turns, and simple floorwork. Low impact modifications will be offered as an alternative. We're listing the workshop as intermediate/advanced, but all levels are welcome and encouraged to join; all the choreography will be fully broken down, explained, and repeated throughout the class. While lots of contemporary dance builds on a foundation of ballet, ballet classes are by no means a prerequisite, and much of the contemporary dance community actually advocates for the recognition of non ballet-based contemporary dance.
