Join us for an evening of music from the Mongolian State Morin Khuur Ensemble with conductor Tuvshinsaikhan Delgersaikhan. The Ensemble specializes in traditional Mongolian musical instruments and vocal styles, from horsehair fiddle tunes to polyphonic throat singing and beyond. Through folk and contemporary arrangements, the Ensemble infuses traditional melodies with elements of jazz and classical music. The musicians’ songs resound with the sounds of the steppe, evoking the thundering of horse hooves and the wind whipping over the plains. Screening of a recorded performance from Ulaanbaatar, Mongolia in Stull Recital Hall, with a live introduction by Visiting Assistant Professor of Anthropology Kip Hutchins and live question-and-answer session via Zoom with the ensemble's conductor.

Free and open to the public.
