A concert featuring students enrolled in "Introduction to African American Music" performing in small ensembles, live from the Clark Bandstand in Tappan Square.

Students will give culminating performances that apply their new understandings of Black musical traditions gained over two semesters in the course Intro to African American Music, taught by Visiting Assistant Professor of Ethnomusicology Courtney-Savali Andrews. Performances will highlight music of Black performers, composers, and artists from the 18th century to the present.

Works by Joseph Bologne, the Chevalier de Saint-Georges, Florence Price, H. Leslie Adams, Stevie Wonder, Trouble Funk, Jose James, and others will be interpreted.
