“Kinethics” riffs on the words kinetic, aesthetic, kinship and ethic, to bring attention to different kinds of shared sensory relations that movement produces within dance communities, as well as the consequences of those relations for how life is valued. Kinethics engages dance studies’ interest to bridge theories of movement, embodiment and aesthetics. Presented by Naomi Macalalad Bragin.
Presented as part of Moving Bodies and Social Justice, a series of speakers, workshops and pedagogical conversations will take place throughout the spring semester.
