Beyond Protest, a Community Dialogue in Observance of Conflict Resolution and Ombuds Day

Thursday, October 10, 2019 at 6:15pm to 8:30pm

Peters Hall, Klutznick Commons
50 North Professor Street, Oberlin, OH 44074

When protest is insufficient and our efforts appear insignificant compared to the injustice we confront what more can we do? YBCD invites the campus and community to reflect on this together through dialogue with Rev. Thomas L Bowen, director of the DC Mayor Muriel Bowser's Office of Religious Affairs.

A Lorain County native, Bowen is an experienced community organizer and was trained at the Midwest Academy, a national institute committed to advancing the struggle for social, economic, and racial justice.

The dialogue will be preceded by a reception at 6:15 PM cohosted by the Elyria YWCA's Community Anti-hate Taskforce (CAT).

Parking is available after 6 PM in the parking lots on West College Street on the block just past Tappan Square.
