Dr. Noa Kageyama ’98 will be presenting a series of workshops and individual sessions as part of a two-day residency at the conservatory centralized around issues of performance anxiety and performance optimization.

A renowned performance psychologist, Dr. Noa Kageyama is the creator of the Bulletproof Musician blog, and a faculty member at Juilliard. This two-day residency is made possible through the office of Conservatory Professional Development and the Conservatory Wellness Workshops.

In this workshop, students will explore the three components of performance anxiety (and why we usually focus on the least important one). They will learn a strategy designed to help you perform your best when it matters most, and use two practice strategies that will help you perform more consistently up to your full abilities under pressure. Students are invited to bring their instruments to the group sessions to be coached by Dr. Kageyama in front of the class.
